ABOUT HURRICANES
Hurricanes Cheerleading is the brainchild of our Head Coach Lyndsey. Set up in September 2015, Hurricanes Cheer started by offering weekly classes at a local leisure centre as part of their kids sports activity program.
In January 2017, Lyndsey got together with some old team mates and formed a senior squad in Offerton and successfully took them to the teams first ever competition outing in May of that year. Having started a new job and most of the senior squad now off at college or university the team dwindled somewhat, but Lyndsey never gave up on her dream of spreading the Cheer Spirit into a community.
In May 2018 we moved to our 2nd home at Offerton Community Centre, situated in the heart of a strong local community we set about building our profile and the team grew from strength to strength.
In September 2020, we were lucky enough to unveil our very own gym, affectionately known as The Epi-Centre, located in Welkin Mill, Bredbury. This move enabled us to expand our timetable even further to offer more classes in a greater range of styles.
We pride ourselves on being a true COMMUNITY team offering classes to girls and boys aged 3 years +. Most of our athletes have no previous experience in Cheer, Dance or Gymnastics but each child comes to class every week and gives their 100% best, making their coaches and parents proud.

CHEERING FOR THE COMMUNITY
Hurricanes Cheerleading prides itself on being at the heart of the community we serve. We believe that everyone should have the opportunity to take part in activity.
For this reason, our classes are open to everyone. We don't ask for any previous experience in Cheerleading, Gymnastics or Dance, just a willingness to learn. We also keep our class prices as low as possible to reduce cost to families.
Access Sport Partners
Access Sport is a national sports inclusion charity founded in 2004. Its vision is a world where no young person is excluded from the life-changing benefits of community sport, particularly improvements in physical and mental wellbeing, personal development, belonging, and community engagement. Its mission is to make inclusion the norm in community sport. The charity works by addressing the root causes of exclusion that disadvantaged and disabled young people face, and supports community sports clubs, organisations, coaches, and volunteers with training and resources to deliver inclusive sport in their local areas.
Our partnership with Access Sport allows us to expand our offer to children and young people who may experience barriers to accessing the sport of cheerleading.
